The Miss West Virginia Scholarship Pageant takes place each June at the Robert C. Byrd High School Auditorium. The winner travels to Atlantic City to participate in the Miss America competition.

A great Clarksburg tradition is the 4th of July Wheeling Symphony Orchestra and fireworks display at Clarksburg’s City Park along south Route 20 in Nutter Fort. This wonderful event has become a family ritual for local residents and surrounding counties.

Because of its central location, Clarksburg is chosen for the annual West Virginia State Dart Championship and National Hall of Fame Banquet. The state’s best dart throwers vie for the championship in men, women and mixed doubles in triple competition. For additional information, call 304-622-9330.

Clarksburg is also the location for the world-class 10K Run featuring some of the top runners of the world! Over 1,000 runners participate in this race each year. The organizers for this event are in the planning stages for some changes including the “triple crown”. The Greater Clarksburg 10K Race will team up with the Great Race from Pittsburgh and the Cleveland 10K to add more excitement to each race. Runners who participate in all three races will be eligible for cash prizes and other awards. Runners can register on-line at www.clarksburg10k.com and contact World Headquarters (P.A.T.C.H.) at 304-622-4735.
